Future Show.

Hola a todos,

I am working hard since the last 3 years about a series of paintings that are coming along very nicely. I am taking aggressive moves and making a shift from my previous direction.

This series is about people and the Big Apple. I collected a lot of drawings, photos and research material after all our trips to Manhattan since 2004. We have spent an average of 2 trips a year but the busiest times where when we spent 2 full weeks every two months in Manhattan. We even had to pay NYC taxes for all the days we spent there during a couple of years.

Thanks to all this trips and being located in a nice hotel in Bryant Park (Midtown Manhattan), I was able to walk all over the Island. I went to the majority of Art Galleries in Chelsea, SoHo and the 57th Street. I visited all the biggest Museums and also the not so famous. I talked to a lot of New Yorkers and we ate in very good restaurants.

Anyway, all was going really good those trips to NYC. I really felt like we lived the life of a New Yorker in a very real way. We had a kitchen and we did groceries and other normal things people do in a day.

I have over 15 pieces, from small to large ones, at 60% completion. I am planning on having a few more to then move on creating a portfolio to then market the pieces and get a great show.

Thanks,

Summer 2009 - Spain

Greetings,

It's been a while but finally I have to update my blog. We have had a very busy year. Our son is great and we love our life. We went on Summer 2009 back to Spain to visit my family and friends. There was a very really special occasion. My parents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They organized a great dinner in a restaurant with all their daughters, sons, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law (but one that sadly couldn't make it due to her parents illness.) Their best friends also came to the event. We had an 8 course dinner with starter wines, whites, reds and ended up with liquors and Cuban Cigars that one of my brothers brought to celebrate. We started the dinner at 9 P.M. and we finished at 2 A.M. It was fantastic and they were very happy. We all went to.

We had a great time on the beach and our son really enjoyed the sun, Mediterranean, family meals, my mom's cooking and all the amenities of our childhood summer home. After a month there, we also spent a few weeks in their winter home (an hour away from their summer home in the Mediterranean.) My wife and I really enjoyed visiting our special romantic places where we dined and wined as best as we could. We also enjoyed a lot our time in the sun and our close time together with no work worries.

My son & I went everyday to have a few tapas appetizers where he enjoyed very much the Octopus, Ensaladilla Rusa and other delicacies. Also, his Fanta de Limon, a treat for him due to the lack of Pop/Soda exposure in his life. I enjoyed my cold beer with the tapas. I also had a chance to meet my friends and go out with them out at night. I also reconnected with my oldest friend after 8 or more years where we had our differences and did not had any relationship.

We ended up staying a few days also at my brothers home in Madrid, where we had a very good time with them and their daughters.

Our son with four years and a couple months had a great new skill. He learned at my brother's home (a nice complex) to ride the bike without the supporting wheels.

Then, we returned to our daily routines. Our life is good.

Thanks,
